The cosmetic industry is flooded with processes and procedures that give a chance to people to enhance their beauty. A lot of these cosmetic procedures make promises which may or may not prove to be true. We bring you a low down on some of the most widely used cosmetic procedures with the hope that it may help you gain some insight before going through with the treatment of your choice.

Chemical peels: Chemical Peels are used for a variety of purposes. The peels are used for erasing fine lines and wrinkles and also for softening the skin. The different chemical peel treatments are Trichloroacetic Acids (TCA) and Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA). TCA peels are generally used for deep skin treatments and can slightly take more days to heal than the AHA peels. Chemical peels are effective and come with little side effects. Some of these side effects include temporary skin tanning, and mild itching. The effects only last for a while and may disappear soon if proper precautions are followed. If you are unsure or wary about the treatment, you can ask your dermatologist to perform a small patch test on your skin before going in for the actual treatment.

Laser Hair Removal: It is a widely used method of hair removal. However, it only works on dark coarse hair and is again ineffective on grey hair. Contrary to what people say, laser does not remove hair permanently, it just reduces the growth by burning the hair follicles. Laser is a great alternative to other hair removal methods like waxing and threading and can be used on the face, arms, legs and bikini area. It is also less painful than other methods and can prove to be safe if performed under the care and guidance of a dermatology expert.
