You hear about how bad chocolate is for you. Chocolate is seen as a sinful delight, not something that is healthy. The truth about chocolate is more than what people think it is. In a study done by the Department of Health and Human services the research showed that those who ate up to 7.5 grams of chocolate every day had lower blood pressure. Chocolate also was found to lower the chance of having a heart attack.

The American Heart Association recommends that chocolate doesn’t increase the number of calories you take however it should be eaten along with healthier foods. It is accepted fact that chocolate will help reduce the risk of several diseases. Just make sure that you keep your weight level maintained and eat a healthy amount of chocolate.

Dark chocolate is better for helping the heart than milk or white chocolate. White chocolate has not shown to have any benefits for the heart but eating dark chocolate in the right amount can be very healthy for you.

Chocolate is also an excellent antioxidant which means it protects the body’s cells from dying. The flavanols are able to produce nitric oxide as well.
