Chocolate addictions

Many are addicted to dark chocolates. Clinical studies have proved that the cocoa found in the dark chocolates has evident health benefits. Cocoa helps improve the immune system, helps the body to lower inflammation and garner free radicals. It also helps to lower blood pressure. Cocoa is high on polyphenols. Chocolate or cocoa has more than sixty percent of procyanidins. Procyanidins is a special type of polyphenol which is also present in teas, vegetables and fruits in high amounts. Procyanidins is very effective in controlling blood pressure.
You can make your daily glass of milk healthier and tastier by adding some dark chocolate to it. My family is very health conscious and we always try and make sure that everything that we have is healthy. We even use wellness water filter to drink clean water, which also helps us eliminate water borne diseases.
Researchers have found that cocoa when consumed on a regular basis for 2 weeks can remarkably lower high blood pressure, with similar effects as medications. But green tea and black tea does not have such an effect. Coco has a drastic effect on cardiovascular health. It reduces strokes and heart attacks up to ten to twenty percent. The point to be noted here is that it’s the cocoa that’s the active agent and not the chocolate. Good news for chocolate lovers is that every time when you go to the store you can grab a couple of dark chocolate bars and make sure you avoid white chocolate. Even though they are excellent in taste, white chocolates come with all the polyphenols removed. So it does not offer the above mentioned health benefits.
